With abstract art people often ask why... We're in a world where things have to have a point, an answer and purpose. But I want you to look at design and how that makes you feel. The chair for example. The curve, the colour, the way it sits in a room. The view you have while sitting in it. The way it interacts with its environment. There's an obsession there, a want to feel the calm in that theoretical room. To understand the way all the objects there exist with one another. The language. And what if the chair is no longer a chair but now is a sculpture. Does it still have the same effect? I believe it does. When you take away the practicality of an object in the design world it is still a design. It still effects you. And that is to me what abstract art is. It's the heart of design, the beginning if you will. It is the representation of us in space learning about the way in which we move and effect our surroundings.
